Longarm Machine

This is my KISA machine - my Knight In Shining Armour!

His name is King Arthur (or Arty for short) He is a Nolting Pro Series 24 machine, which means that the throat space (between the needle and the motor housing at the back) is 24 inches - which gives me a LOT of machine quilting area.

He has a built in IntelliStitch regulator, which is there to help keep my quilting stitches nice and even.  It doesn't mean that I just load the quilt, switch him on and off he goes!   To produce the quilting designs I manually *drive* Arty over the fabric, drawing the quilting lines with the thread as I work.  It is a very creative, enjoyable process and there are so many different ways to play that - quilting is never boring

Combining different techniques and styles means that I can work an infinite number of designs which will best suit different quilts.   First and foremost I am a quilter myself, so I know how important it is to take time to discuss all the options before the thread hits the quilt!   Contact me to discuss what you have in mind.  I will provide a quote, sometimes with more than one option for you to choose which suits your taste and budget.
** ....... Thank you for the wonderful service and for keeping me so well up to date on the progress.
Best regards, JM **

I provide a variety of background meander fillers, including the traditional curly stippling style in various shapes and sizes as well as many alternatives - meandering leaves, hearts, vines, flowers, curls, S-darts, C-darts .......

I also have several accessories for Arty, to help me produce many different quilting designs.  These include:

  •  all-over pantograph patterns - leaves, flowers, butterflies, popcorn, camellias,  surfing, flames, orientals ..........etc
  •  a Circle Lord with its many templates -  edge to edge clamshells and baptist fans - spirals, ovals, hearts, stars, intertwining spirograph shapes ....... and many many more
  •  Off the Edge quilting rulers  which are new for 2010 and mean that my library of designs will soon be increasing to include swags, paisley, plumes, straight and curved cross-hatching  - any many others!  Very exciting.

And if you prefer to hand quilt - take the pain and effort out of the process and let Arty and I machine baste for you.  This will leave you with no layering - no pinning - no spraying ........ just the heaven of your own beautiful handquilt stitching .......

Arty and I look forward to working with you to transform your patchwork and fabrics into a delightful quilt to snuggle under or to proudly hang on your wall.
